For Your Safety
Fire Drills
We conduct regular fire drills, so please do not be alarmed if you hear the fire alarm sounding. Stay in your immediate area. Doors in the hallways and patient/resident areas will be closed per fire code regulations. We appreciate your understanding.
Infection Control Precautions
The nurses, doctors and others involved in your care follow standard medical precautions. This means they might wear gloves, gowns, and/or surgical masks and goggles.
All patient rooms have sharps containers for the immediate disposal of needles and other sharp objects. Patients and visitors should not use them unless instructed to do so by the nursing staff.
Throughout the medical center you will see covered trash receptacles lined with red bags. They are used to dispose of infectious waste. They are not intended to be used by patients or visitors without nursing staff approval.
Valuables and Personal Belongings
We are not responsible for lost articles. Valuables such as jewelry, credit cards and money should not be kept in your room. Please send them home with a relative.
We do encourage you to keep your eyeglasses, dentures, contact lenses and hearing aids with you. Using them will enhance your ability to communicate and honor your dignity.
Wet Surfaces
To avoid accidents, please do not walk on floors being cleaned. Contact a staff member if there is a spill on the floor in your room.
