Whether you come into the Emergency Room with a broken bone or need a routine mammogram, Pine Medical Center has some of the most technologically advanced imaging services, and highly trained experts to read the results, in Minnesota.
Our new state-of-the-art X-ray machine doesn't use film but instead transfers digital images to radiologists at the Duluth Clinic. A diagnosis is available literally within a few minutes. Our CT scans are read the same way. Our electrocardiograms also are read within minutes.
In fact, all of our imaging is read by highly trained specialists in Duluth. If the image isn't sent electronically, it goes by courier and results are available within 24 hours.
We have access to every type of imaging available at SMDC Health System. For example, a truck brings an MRI machine weekly and ultrasound and nuclear medicine mobile services visit us frequently, too. We offer outpatient mammograms and X-rays at Gateway Clinic in Sandstone as well.
